1.DDT: Chemical pollutants against insects. Coming into fish by fish oil / flour. Used especially against malaria. Discovery: Found in 54 of 55 samples. Contains between 0.1 and 8.1 microgram/kg. There is not set limit. Possible damage: Carcinogenic. Has been banned in Norway since the 70s, but very long nedbrytbarhetstid. Still used in Afrika.

2.Emamectin: repellent against lice coming through the feed. Found in 5 of 77 samples, between 2.5 and 10 mg/kg . EU limit: 100 microgram/kg. Possible damage: Low toxicity to humans

3.Pentachlorobenzene: fish oil / flour in the feed. Discovery: Found in 34 of 55 samples, between 0.1 and 0.3 mg/kg. It is not set upper limit. Potential Damage: Negative effect on nervous system. Now forbidden, and on the way down.

4. Gamma-HCH: Chlorinated pollutants. Coming in fish via fish oil / flour in the feed. Found in 15 of 55 samples, between 0.03 and 0.2 microgram/kg. It is not set upper limit. Potential Damage: Negative effect on nervous system. Now forbidden, and on the way down.

5. Trans-nonachlor: Chlorinated pollutants that come into the fish via fish oil / flour in the feed. Discovery: Found in 54 of 55 samples, between 0.1 and 2.8 microgram/kg. It is not set limit. Potential Damage: Do negative effect on nervous system. Organic pesticides that now is forbidden and on the way down, but found in almost all samples.

6. Toxaphene-62: Chlorinated pollutants. Coming in fish via fish oil / flour in the feed. Discovery: Found in 50 of 55 samples; between 0.03 and 2 microgram/kg. It is not set upper limit. Potential Damage: Negative effect on nervous system and is carcinogenic. Now forbidden, and on the way down, but found in nearly all samples.

7. PCB: One of the most dangerous pollutants. Coming in fish by fish oil / flour. Previously used in industrial products such as paper and paint Discovery: Found in 47 of 54 samples; between 0.5 and 10.3 microgram/kg. The upper limit for total PCB6 in fish is 75 micrograms. Possible damage: May cause impaired immune function in humans, nervous system damage, cause liver cancer, impair future fertility of the fetus.

8. Alfa-HCH: Chlorinated pollutants. Coming in fish via fish oil / flour in the feed. Found in 24 of 55 samples, between 0.1 and 0.3 microgram/kg. It is not set upper limit. Potential Damage: Negative effect on nervous system. Now prohibited and level on the way down.

9. Cis-nonachlor: Chlorinated pollutants. Coming in fish via fish oil / flour in the feed. Found in 49 of 55 samples; between 0.01 and 1.0 microgram/kg. There is no set upper limit. Potential Damage: Negative effect on nervous system. Now forbidden, and on the way down, but found in almost all samples.

10. Mirex: Chlorinated pollutants on insect (ants) that going to fish through fish oil / flour in the feed. Discovery: Found in 20 of 55 samples; between 0.04 and 0.3 microgram/kg. It is not set limit. Potential Damage: Negative effect on nervous system and animal studies the have carcinogenic risk also humans. Now forbidden, and on the way down.

11. Brominated flame retardants (PBDE7):Used in clothing, chairs, blankets and other products to reduce flammability. Coming in fish via feed. Found in 29 of 29 samples. Contains 0.1-1 nanograms/kg. No upper limit, but may be in the future. Possible damage: Liver damage, reduced and impaired fertility hormone system.

12. Oxy-chlordane: Chlorinated pollutants. Coming in fish via fish oil / flour in the feed. Discovery: Found in 48 of 55 samples, between 0.02 and 0.69 microgram/kg. There is no set limit, but low values. Potential Damage: Negative effect on nervous system. Now forbidden, and on the way down, but found in many samples.

13. Endosulfan sulfate: Chlorinated pollutants that have come in fish by fish oil, but now also coming through vegetable oil. Discovery: Found in 34 of 55 samples, between 0.02 and 0.5 microgram/kg. There is no set upper limit. Potential Damage: Negative effect on the nervous system and is carcinogenic. 14. Toxaphene 26: Chlorinated pollutants. Coming in fish via fish oil / flour in the feed. Discovery: Found in 37 of 55 samples, between 0.04 and 3.1 microgram/kg. There is no set upper limit. 15. Cadmium: Industrial come through the use of wheat plant oil, which is used increasingly as feed. Discovery: Found in 33 of 328 samples; between 0.001 and 0.05 milligrams per kilogram. Upper limit in most fish species is 0.05 milligram / kg. This is the substance Russian authorities found earlier in the 2000s which meant that they took action against Norwegian salmon. Possible damage: Kidney failure. Is also carcinogenic.

16. HCB: Chlorinated pollutants. Coming in fish via fish oil / flour in the feed. Found in 54 of 55 samples, between 0.1 and 2.2 microgram/kg. It is not set upper limit. Potential Damage: Negative effect on nervous system. Now forbidden, and on the way down, but found in almost all samples.

17. Dioxins: By-product of combustion and earlier of PCB production. Formed of chlorine and carbon, including when it burns and by volcanic activity. Coming in fish via fishing fish oil / flour. Found in 29 of 29 samples, between 0.1 to 1.2 nanogram TE/kg. The upper limit for dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs, reduced to 6.5 nanogram TE/ kg. Possible damage: Carcinogenic. Can also harm the fetus.

18. Alfa Endulsofan: Chlorinated pollutants. Have come to fish through fish oil, but now also via plant oil. Discovery: Found in 23 of 55 samples, between 0.02 and 5.8 microgram /kg. There is no set upper limit. Potential Damage: Do negative effect on the nervous system and is carcinogenic. This is higher than the second chlorine compounds. Potential Damage: Negative effect on nervous system. Now forbidden, and on the way down, but found in all samples.

26. Beta-Endosulfan: Chlorinated pollutants. Have come to fish through fish oil, but now also going through vegetable oil. Discovery: Found in 21 of 55 samples, between 0.03 and 1.2 microgram/kg. It is not set limit. Potential Damage: Do negative effect on nervous system and is carcinogenic.
